Knoxville Lifestyle Newborn Photographer Experience
The early days at home with your baby are sacred. Quiet, slow, and often a bit hazy, filled with soft snuggles, sleepy feedings, and the tender beginnings of a lifelong bond.
My in-home newborn photography sessions are designed to meet you right where you are: in the comfort of your space, with your rhythms and your baby being the star of the show. As a Maryville-based newborn photographer serving Knoxville and the surrounding area, here is how I will help you savor and preserve this time.
When to Schedule your Newborn Photos?
I recommend scheduling your newborn sessions for within the first 2-3 weeks after birth, while your baby is still sleepy and tiny. However, since my newborn sessions are lifestyle I don't need baby to be in that sleepy stage that is key for posed newborn photography, we can easily adjust based on your recovery and how your family is settling in and can always do photos when your newborn is a little older (like four weeks or so) though I still love that early stage!
What an In-Home Session Looks Like
These sessions are quiet and cozy. You don’t have to leave the house or worry about packing a diaper bag. I come to you with gentle guidance and no rush. We’ll photograph in spaces with mostly natural light, often the nursery, your bedroom, or near a window in the living room.
No props, no harsh posing, just moments of real life, made beautiful.

Styling Tips for Lifestyle Newborn Photos
For newborn photos, neutral tones are generally the best - creams and tans especially, with textures like waffle knit, knits, lace, etc., Whether you want to dress up with pieces from my client closet, or wear your favorite pair of jeans from your closet, I'll help you coordinate simply, cozy outfits for the whole family.

How to Include Siblings and Pets in Newborn Photos
Older siblings can snuggle, bounce, read books, and bring their favorite stuffed animal. We'll adjust and go with the flow - They are going through a huge change too, so I never want to try and force them to do something they aren't enjoying, we'll get them involved playing little games and follow the lead of the newborn and toddler alike.
With pets, I take a similar approach - Typically, dogs and cats will join in to see what is going on and I capture as you interact with them and your baby.

What happens after your newborn session?
You'll receive your gallery as a beautiful preview slideshow and then can choose the collection of images you want to purchase so that you only choose your favorites. From there, you can easily choose prints, wall art, and albums from your gallery's integrated print store. I am here to help every step of the way!
Final Thoughts
If you want newborn photos that feel calm and authentic, this is the session for you. Be present with your baby, tend to their needs, soak in the moment - I'll take care of the rest.

Newborn Photography FAQs
When should I schedule my newborn session?
Ideally, we’ll photograph your baby within the first 2–3 weeks after birth. But because my sessions are baby-led, we can adjust if needed. Your comfort and recovery always come first.
Do I need to clean my whole house?
Nope! I’ll guide you to the best-lit areas, and we’ll use just 1–2 simple spots like the nursery, your bed, or a window-lit corner. A tidy nightstand or a made bed is plenty, no deep cleaning required.
What should my baby wear?
I recommend keeping it simple: a neutral onesie, a swaddle, or even just a diaper and blanket. I’ll guide you through options ahead of time so everything feels easy.
Can siblings be included?
Absolutely, that is part of your family's story welcoming this newborn. I love including older siblings! We keep things relaxed and playful, to capture snuggles, laughter, or quiet moments.
How long does a newborn session take?
Plan for around 60–90 minutes. We move at your baby’s pace, taking breaks for feeding, snuggling, or settling as needed. It’s a slow and gentle process.
Do you bring props or backdrops?
No props or artificial posing here. I focus on natural, emotive lifestyle images that reflect your real life and connection. Your home is the perfect backdrop.
