Pregnant woman cradles her belly and looks down with golden light around her

Knoxville Maternity Photographer

Preserving this season before your family changes forever

Why pregnancy photos?

Because this season deserves to be remembered too

It wasn't until my second pregnancy, as I watched my firstborn take his first steps, that I understood what maternity photos mean to me:

It's not about a glamorous pregnancy photoshoot.

Maternity photos are about remembering what your family feels like right now before everything changes.

The whole family is part of your story, and the waiting season is a chapter worth documenting.

"We love the natural candid look but feel awkward in front of the camera...will you tell us what to do?"

Trust me, I know how it feels to awkwardly wonder what to do, or worse - feel stiff and unnatural. I promise, I won't do that to you!

Throughout your session I will be giving intentional, playful prompts and guidance to help you relax, feel comfortable, and enjoy the experience!

When you show up for your maternity photos, I want it to feel like you’re meeting a friend who already knows you and is confidently cheering you on!

You don’t have to know how to pose.

You don’t have to feel completely comfortable in front of a camera.

That’s my job.

I’m watching the light.

Guiding your positioning.

Paying attention to angles and timing.

You get to focus on each other and enjoy the experience!

How do I book my maternity photos with you?

I’m so thrilled to work with you to capture this beautiful chapter of your family’s story!

To get started, simply book from my online calendar, or send me a message using the button below to inquire. I’d love to answer any questions you have and share more details that would be helpful to you.

When is the best time to take maternity pictures in Knoxville Tennessee?

The best time is usually in the third trimester, typically between 28-34 weeks.

Usually at this point, your belly has "popped" but you still have the energy to be able to move around a bit and enjoy the experience!

Each woman is different, but I tend to recommend the earlier side of the window if you tend to show early on, are feeling uncomfortable already, or have a history of early delivery. First time moms, I tend to recommend closer to 34 weeks as it can take longer for your belly to really "pop"

Where is the best place to take maternity photos in Knoxville Tennessee?

I have an ever growing list of beautiful indoor or outdoor locations around Knoxville, Maryville, and the surrounding area. Some of my favorites are local flower farms for summer, The Holmstead Studio (for any time of year!), and beautiful natural light studios (like some of these!)

As we enter the planning stage of your session, we'll work together to choose the location that feels most like you.

Family maternity photos: Can my kids and husband be included in pregnancy photos?

Absolutely! Just because you and your bump are the main characters doesn't mean everyone else gets left out -  Family maternity photos are my favorite way to celebrate this season. The whole family is part of this special story. Your relationships before baby comes are a huge part of what make maternity photos meaningful. I love capturing beautiful family and couple photos from this time to remember what your family felt like before baby arrived!

I am not sure what to wear to my maternity photos... Do you help give suggestions?

Yes! I love putting outfits together and coordinating colors. You'll receive a prep guide and personalized styling assistance from me - You also get access to my client closet that is filled with beautiful, bump friendly dresses that are flattering and photograph beautifully.

Do you offer any packages that include newborn photos or milestone sessions?

I do! Most of my clients choose the maternity and newborn collection. This gives us time to get to know each other, before I come to your home during the newborn stage. It is really sweet to have that relationship already established.

I offer special packages that bundle maternity and newborn sessions, or even a full first-year collection, so you can have every stage documented.

One of my favorite parts of this work is getting to know the families I photograph and getting to see them year after year. It’s such a joy to capture these milestones for you, not just once, but as your little one grows!
