Hi, I'm Susannah!
I'm a wife, mama to two delightfully energy-filled young boys, and a baby girl on the way. I'm also a newborn and family photographer serving the Knoxville area.
With years of experience working with babies and young children, I create calm, unhurried, toddler and baby-led in-home sessions so that you can settle in and simply be with your loved ones and snuggle your new baby.
I'm not one to hype things up with boisterous energy. Instead, I bring a calm presence and gentle direction to every session, guiding your family through an experience that feels comfortable, natural, and results in images that feel like you.
The newborn season isn't a time to rush or perform
In-home newborn sessions are designed to meet you in this season, allowing you space to slow down, breathe deeply, and snuggle your baby close.
Sessions are baby-led, never rushed, with time for feeding, changing, and comforting your little one while I guide you and your family through gentle posing and natural interactions that feel relaxed and connected.
Photos that bring you back to rocking your newborn, the pucker of their lips, the softness of their hair,, the rise and fall of their little breaths.

Your newborn photos should feel calm and unhurried, so you can actually enjoy this time with your baby.
If your little one needs soothing, feeding, or a change of pace, we will follow their lead and take breaks as needed. I love to photograph through all the details just to capture the everyday moments like a fly on a wall while you tend to your baby's needs.
Including siblings is such a special way to remember this newborn season too, I make sure that they are playfully included and that they don't feel pressured or left out.

STEP 01
Book your session
The first step is simply to book your session.
Visit my pricing page to learn about maternity pricing, package options for bundling newborn and/or milestone sessions, and choose your due date from my calendar. That will submit an inquiry so that I can make sure I have your date available before officially booking your newborn session. From there, I pencil in your due date, and block off my calendar around that time so that I am not traveling when your little one arrives.
STEP 02
Session Prep
Once your date is secured, you’ll receive my Welcome Guide, which walks you through what to expect, along with a personal pre-session questionnaire. I love hearing everything about this stage of your life, the things you’re loving, the challenges, and any concerns you might have.
After your questionnaire, I’ll reach out and we’ll start the fun part:
- Personalized styling assistance
- Full access to my client closet filled with flattering dresses, a Design Dua rattan bassinet, and several neutral newborn outfits
- Crafting a session around your home and family
STEP 03
Picture time
When I arrive for your session, I am well aware that I am entering a really special space. I come quietly, I am not going to rush you, your baby, or your toddlers.
I want to hear about your birth and how you're all adjusting to the new baby, let your toddler show me their newest trick while you change the baby's diaper, and gently guide you as we capture your newborn bubble.
STEP 04
Delivering photos
Within two weeks, you'll have access to a beautiful curated collection of photos in a convenient online gallery from which you can download your images and purchase prints, albums, and more.
If you've selected a maternity + newborn package, or first year collection, make sure to select your favorites in your gallery so that you can easily find them again when choosing the images for your complimentary album!
