Best Family Photo Locations in Maryville TN

1. U-Pick Flower Farm near Maryville for Family Photos

One of my favorite photoshoot locations is hands-down, 100%, always and forever, flower farms. They are seriously such a dream come true. So much for kids to explore, so much beauty in one place, it immediately elevates your photos from beautiful to stunning, and creates a more unique experience that you get to enjoy with your family!

Rustic Gate Farm in Friendsville (just minutes outside of Maryville) is the closest one, I love shooting there! (Photo in the flower field above is from there!)

2. Mountain View Location Near Maryville for Photos

I have a private location that is closer (clients, send me a text if we haven't talked about it yet! ;) ) but Cades Cove is not that far away, and makes for the best mountain view photos, if you're willing to undertake the drive through the loop - I have some strategies to get us through faster than most people, but plan for 2-3 hours instead of 1, and make sure your session is on a weekday. The results are totally worth it! That's where I had my own family photos taken last year with my two toddlers. I think that we will do a flower field this year, or our house, but I love the photos we have from Cades Cove. (Photo with the mountains is on Sparks Lane in Cades Cove)

3. Downtown Urban Photoshoot Location

Now, this one I would not recommend for young children - But for older kids, I think it is such a fun and different and modern alternative to natural settings, if that is what you are looking for - Downtown Maryville + the historic courthouse.

If you park in the farmer's market parking lot, there are so many great locations for more modern maternity photos, couple's photos, or photos with teens.

4. Parks for Family Photos in Maryville Tennessee

This one is great for families who don't want to travel too far, and want some good ole Maryville in their photos! It is a blend of downtown/nature - The beautiful Maryville Greenway. You can park down behind the library and have easy access to the bridge by the library, and the path going down to the water with the fountain in the background, and big rocks for the kids to play on. This is stroller accessible and paved, which can't be said for flower fields or mountains. It might be right up your family's alley! You can also park by the courthouse (right down from The Manor) and have even easier access to the green area, it is just further from the fountain + water. You still have some little bridges over the creek though before it reaches the pond.

What to do with kids after family photos in Maryville?

This is a fun one - I always tell me clients, make photos the highlight of your day. You don't want to have just gotten home from the zoo or grocery shopping and then head out to photos when everyone is already worn out. BUT, after your photos are done and you've gotten all your playing and tickling and smiling done, I think ice cream or getting dinner out is a great way to end the experience on a positive note to really prove to your kids that photos can (and should!) be fun and easy.

Bella (if you had a maternity session and want to get something a little fancier for you and your spouse. We have gone with toddlers before, but we prefer going as a couple)

Andy's (ice cream! If you sit on the benches at the side, your kids can play hopscotch - That's my boys' favorite!)

Taking a family walk along the greenway is always a peaceful way to end the evening as well, be sure to look for turtles when you are by the pond - We've seen as many as 50 on one hot summer day!
