Storytime for Kids in Maryville

Blount County Library has multiple storytime/music time activities for kids of all ages. Plus, it's just a great place for toddlers and preschoolers to play and where you can meet other moms!

Storytime at Southern Grace story time with Miss Polly is a highlight of our week! It is geared towards young kids - preschool age, but babies come along with their older siblings and bounce on their mom's laps while Miss Polly reads. We meet at Southern Grace: the Manor at 11am almost every Tuesday (Miss Polly posts on her Facebook page to confirm that it is happening that week) it is a small group of moms and kids. Miss Polly reads a few stories themed around a letter of the alphabet, and then the kids can color. She takes time to get to know each child's name, which I love!

Parks and Splashpads near Maryville Tennessee

If you're looking for free toddler activities in Maryville, parks and splashpads are some of the best options!

Sandy Springs Park

John Sevier Park (inclusive playground, and splashpad is being built, it should be open summer 2026 which will make for a great toddler activity here in Maryville for hot summer months! There is swimming pool right nearby. I like this one and Lenoir City best for toddlers because of the padded ground and small structures.)

Louisville Point Park

Springbrook Park down the hill from the big kid playground is a smaller one for littles, and shaded walking trails go all around. If you park in the lower parking lot near the workout equipment, you don't have to walk at all to get to the playground. There is also a bathroom.

Lenoir City Central Park a nice playground (full sun) and a great splashpad, and a bathroom!

The Mud Kitchen in Townsend (along the Townsend River Walk and Arboretum) - There is a porta-potty, but no actual bathroom unless you drive to one of the nearby local businesses. Parking is also a little tricky! Townsend River Walk and Arboretum put together a little map for you that you can view here.

I love getting to meet all the amazing families in the area and create family photos that feel like artful memories for your home.

I've worked with kids for many years before having my own, I promise - Your little one not wanting to sit still is totally normal and expected! I gladly incorporate that energy into your photos instead of trying to stifle their personality. I can't wait to meet your family!
